
Dr. R. Paul Roddenberry, MD grew up in Macon where he graduated from First Presbyterian Day School and met his now wife Laura Shaker. He received a B.S. degree in microbiology from the University of Georgia, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He completed an M.D. degree at the Medical College of Georgia where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Roddenberry completed his residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, and joined this practice in 1997.
Appointments have included Chief of Staff at Coliseum Medical Center as well as the Coliseum same-day surgery. He served as chairman of the Board of Trustees at Coliseum Medical Center (now Piedmont). He served as president of the Bibb County Medical Society in 2024. Dr. Roddenberry has narrowed his practice to gynecology since delivering his last baby in December 2024. He is now focusing on minimally invasive surgery including hysterectomy as well as pelvic floor surgery to treat prolapse disorders such as cystocele, rectocele, and urinary incontinence. This includes robotic and laparoscopic approaches done abdominally and vaginally.
With over 30 years of experience in OB/GYN Dr. Roddenberry enjoys helping patients through the menopausal transition with multifaceted approach including bioidentical hormones and if appropriate pellets. He continues to treat common problems in younger patients such as endometriosis, fibroids and infertility with both medical and surgical approaches to fit their needs.
He is certified by the American Board of OB/GYN and a Fellow of the American College of OB/GYN.
